                                    THE RUNAWAY PROPHET PART XXVI

"I, Elijah, the prophet of God, heard the voice of the Lord.... It did not come to me in the way I expected it.... I expected it to come in the storm.... But it did not.... I then expected it to come to me in the earthquake..... But it did not.... I then thought that, surely, it would come to me in the fire.... But it did not.... To my amazement, it came to me in a gentle whisper.....God is truly a God of surprises.... I wondered what the Lord would say to me this time.... He then repeated what He had said before.... I was quite taken aback.....Why would He ask me again what I am doing here?... It must be a question on His heart for me.... I decided to repeat what I had told Him the first time He had asked me that question... So I told Him again about all His prophets having been killed off and that I, His most zealous prophet, was in danger of losing my life as well.... I am sure God will this time respond to my remarks."... Please read the typed out attachment when you will learn that God repeated His question to the prophet Elijah.....

                              THE RUNAWAY PROPHET PART XXVI

The Lord then speaks to the prophet Elijah again as you can read in I Kings 19:13b

Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

The Lord repeats His question, "What are you doing here, Elijah? because He wants to confront Elijah that he is not in the place where God wants him to be. But Elijah once again ignores the question and gives God the same reply he has given Him earlier on as you can read in I Kings 19:14

He replied, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected Your covenant, broken down Your altars, and put \Your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left , and now they are trying to kill me too."

It seems Elijah thinks God is not aware of the situation in Israel as it really is and the danger he, Elijah, is facing, so he better inform God.
