A PURPOSEFUL LIFE; OLD TESTAMENT STORIES
THE RUNAWAY PROPHET PART XXV
"I, Elijah, the prophet of God, told the Lord what was on my heart.... He had asked me a question.... I had not answered that question.... He wanted to know what I was doing there.... I did not want to answer that question.... I had other things I wanted to talk about to the Lord.... Things that were more urgent to me.... So I told Him that all His prophets had been killed off....And that I as His most zealous prophet was in danger of losing my life as well.... However, the Lord did not respond to my words.... He only told me to stand on the mountain.... So I did.... A powerful wind came....An earthquake came next.... Then a fire came.... I did not hear the voice of the Lord in any of them.... So I continued to wait.... I then heard a gentle whisper....That was the voice of the Lord....I must know what He wants to say to me."... Please read the typed out attachment when you will learn how the Lord spoke to Elijah....

THE RUNAWAY PROPHET PART XXV
God is very patient with His prophet as you can see from I Kings 19:11-13a
The Lord said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
The Lord tells the prophet Elijah to wait for Him to pass by.
