                                                AN INSTRUMENT FOR HEALING

                                                                   PART II

A young girl in Naaman's household, who had been take captive by his army, has the answer to Naaman's problem: He should visit the prophet in Samaria as you can read in II Kings 5:2

Now bands of Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel and she served Naaman's wife. She said to her mistress: "If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy."

No doubt, Naaman will already have been to every doctor in the land but to no avail. All the medicine he has received up till this moment will only have made him worse rather than better. Very likely, that is why Naaman decides to listen to this young girl's advice. I doubt, he would have listened to her at any other time. In fact, he may not have known of her existence in his household. But times are not normal for Naaman is a very sick man and he knows it.

P.S. This story is a true story about people, including the prophet Elijah, who lived in the 9th Century BC so a very long time ago.
