"I, David, the youngest son of Jesse, have used a very unusual weapon to kill the giant Goliath... I used a smooth stone... The reason I did so is because I am a shepherd and not a soldier.... My prayer is that those who will come after me will know how to dress and what weapons to use to defeat their enemy."...            ONE SLING SHOT WILL DO

                                                                                           PART XIV

As a believer, you need to make sure that you are dressed in the armour of God to protect yourself against the onslaughts of the enemy. The first piece of the armour is the belt of truth. This refers to Jesus being the Truth as you can read in John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

The next piece of the armour is the breastplate of righteousness. This speaks of the fact that as a believer you are righteous in Christ according to 2 Corinthians 5:21

"God made Him who had no sin to become sin for us so that, in Him, we might become the righteousness of God."

Then Paul mentioned that your feet are to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace for Jesus said in John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you."

Thereafter you are told to take up the shield of faith according to 1 Thessalonians 5:9

"God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."
