A WALK THROUGH THE BOOK OF ACTS

                      PART XX - III

"I, Paul, have been sensing for some time that I should go to Jersualem.... I know at the same time that difficulties will be waiting for me once I arrive there.... However, I trust that the Lord will watch over me even in the midst of these difficulties.... Whatever these difficulties may be.... I decided to sail past Ephesus in order to save time.... But I wanted to see the elders of the church in Ephesus one more time.... So I arranged a meeting with them in Miletus.... As I requested, they came to see me....I then shared with them from my heart..... I told them that they knew how I had lived before them.... That I had served the Lord with great humility... That I had taught them everything that would help build their faith in the Lord Jesus.... The reason I shared these things with them is because I want them to live in the same way... Whether or not I am with them.".... Please read the typed out attachment when you will learn of Paul's meeting with the elders of the church in Epesus.....

                                                         PART XX - III

Afterwards Paul left for Jerusalem because he sensed the Holy Spirit was leading him to go there as you can read in Acts 20:16

Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus to avoid spending time in the province of Asia, for he was in a hurrt to reach Jerusalem, if possible by the day of Pentecost.

On the way there, he arranged for a meeting with the elders from the church in Ephesus as you can read in Acts 20:17

From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church.

As soon as they arrived, he began to share things with them that were on his heart as you can read in Acts 20:18-20

When they arrived, he said to them, "You know how I  lived, the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia. I served the Lord with great humility and with tears, although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews. You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Paul wanted to remind these elders how he had ministered among them. This was, no doubt, because he wanted them to minister in the same way, even when he was not with them.
