A WALK THROUGH THE BOOK OF ACTS
PART XIII - 11
"Barnabas and I, Saul, thought we would be in Antioch for quite some time to disciple the new believers there... However, that all changed the other day... We, together with the other leaders of the church in Antioch had come together for a time of worship and prayer....The Holy Spirit then told usthat He had other plans for us....We knew that we should obey Him....We trust that the Lord will provide other believers in Antioch to take over from us....For we are sure that the Lord means for the work to continue...As Barnabas and I prepared for our trip we sensed we should travel to the island of Cyprus... So we did.... We travelled throughout the island... And we eventually arrived in Paphos....The pro-consul of Cyprus lives here.... His name is Sergius Paulus.... He has invited us to his residence....W have met a Jewish man named Bar-Jesus or Elymas as well.....We are both very uneasy about this man....Something about him does not feel right.... I suppose that we will meet him tomorrow....For we will then visit the pro-consul.... And Bar Jesus is very close to the pro-cosul."... Please read the typed out attachment when you will learn of the invitation of the pro-consul of Cyprus, a man named Sergius Paulus, to Barnabas and Saul....

PART XIII - II
As for Barnabas and Saul, having learned during a time of worship and prayer with the leaders of the church in Antioch that the Holy Spirit wanted them to leave Antioch, they would have realised that they needed specific direction from the Holy Spirit as to where to go. And the Holy Spirit did indeed show them where they were to travel to as you can read in Acts 13:4
The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus.
Once they arrived at the island of Cyprus, they travelled throughout the island until they came to a place called Paphos. That is where they began to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the people who lived there. One of the people the Holy Spirit allowed them to meet was a man named Bar-Jesus or Elymas. He was connected to the pro-consul of Cyprus, a man named Sergius Paulus. And the pro-Consul invited Barnabas and Saul to meet with him as you can read in Acts 13:6-7
They travelled through the whole island until they came to Paphos, There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, who was attenant of the pro-consul Sergius Paulus. The pro-consul, an intelligent man sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.
A wonderful opportunity arises for Barnabas and Saul to preach the gospel, for all people, regardless of their status in life, are lost and in need of salvation.
